European Burmese
The European Burmese is an elegant, but not fragile cat breed. Body is medium sized, hard and muscular, heavier and denser than it looks. Fur is short, glossy, almost satin-like. There can be ten colors of coat: Sable, blue, champagne, platinum, chocolate, lilac, red cream, seal tortie, blue tortie, chocolate tortie, lilac tortie. Behaviour, playing, devotion to humans, medical facts are the same as with the Burmese.
ORIGIN: European Burmese and Burmese share same origin. The cat with the name Wong Mau. After mating with Siamese two types of kittens were produced; solid and pointed. Solid were chosen to propagate the breed of the Burmese cat. Somewhat later they reached U.K. There they were crossed again with Siamese due to a lack of
breeding stock, and not with original Burmese from Burma. Because of that six additional colors from Siamese genes were introduced into four original available in the Burmese genes. So completely new breed was developed with differnt colors of the original Burmese.
