ANGORA/ORIENTAL LONGHAIR

The Angora cats, or Oriental Longhairs are elegant and lithe-bodied. They have very fine silky coat which require less grooming than Persians because they lack wooly undercoat. They mature for a long time, so it is possible that your young Angora wear they short fur for a long time. They get longhair only after they reach adulthood. Oriental Longhairs have long, slim but well-muscled legs which and in small, oval paws with tufts of fur at the toes. Tey carry their tail high up, and they are fluffy. They are lively and inquisitive, and in the busiest moments, your Oriental will find a way to interrupt your activities; a little nudge while you eat, a close examination of your tooth brush prior to use, or some help tying your shoes before you leave in the morning. But they also love long period of inactivity, sleeping in warm, comfortable places, like your lap, providing a comforting purr.

ORIGIN: Angora or Oriental Longhair was created as a crossbred of sorrel Abyssinian and Seal Point Siamese by Maureen Silson in 1960s. The first one was called Cuckoo. It is important to know that Angoras are not related to Turkish Angora or Persian cats which are also called Oriental Longhairs by some.
