SNOWSHOE / Silver Laces
The Snowshoe is medium sized cat. Their body is lean but muscular. The tail is long. The coat is short, rich and thick and lies close to the body. Their head is moderately wedge-shaped. They have blue eyes and rather large
triangular, pointed ears. The paws are oval shaped with pads being pink or grey. Their name comes from their white „boots“ which ideally stop at the ankles on front legs, and bellow the hocks on the hind legs. They are generally sweet tempered, energetic, intelligent, and adaptable. They are a very social breed that requires more attention than most cats do, and consequently cannot be left alone for long periods of time. In a typical household they will be friendly to everyone, but will usually devote themselves almost entirely to one person.
ORIGIN: The Snowshoe began as a cross between the American Shorthair and the Siamese in the early 1960s in the United States , effort on the part of Dorothy Hinds-Daugherty. Other breeders were suspicious because white toes were considered as flaws in Siamese. But in Snowshoe that was their trademark
